RE: Dr. Jon Feeney and “The Office Hero League”
Hello to Everyone at Atiga Family Practice:
I am a new patient to your medical offices, but I have been greatly impressed by the entire team.
I’m writing to your office to express my compliments for the excellent service offered by Dr. Jon Feeney and (The Hero League) = Jayme Harris and Elizabeth and Odalis and Ally. I want to thank you all for your time because you have been very pleasant. It was a joy to meet with all of you.
Let me share a thought.
As you have undoubtedly discovered in life, it is important to find employees who care about their work.
With that in mind, I’m going to give you something to think about which you will never forget for the rest of your life!
Charles Schultz, the creator of the “Peanuts” comic strip, had an interesting philosophy about life.
As a matter of fact, Charles Schultz had a two-part quiz about life because of his philosophy.
You should try this quiz.
Let’s see how well you can handle it.
Keep in mind that you don’t have to actually answer these questions because, I think, you’ll get the point.
- Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
- Name the last five winners of the Heisman Trophy.
- Name the last five winners of the Miss America Contest.
- Name ten people who have won the Nobel Prize.
- Name the winners of the last six Academy Awards.
- Name all of the winners of the World Series for the last decade.
How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember those great people who were the “Winners of Yesteryear”.
And you must be aware that these people were not second-rate achievers. They were the best in their fields.
But the applause dies.
The wonderful awards which they received will tarnish.
And their achievements are forgotten.
Let’s move on.
Now, here’s the second part of the quiz.
Let’s see how you do on this part:
- Name a teacher who aided you on your journey through school.
- Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
- Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
- Name a person who has made you feel appreciated and special.
- Name five people with whom you enjoy spending time.
- Name a good doctor and his office staff who were kind to you and helped you get the medical attention that you really needed.
Were those questions easier to answer?
The lesson which we should learn here is important.
Here it is.
The magnificent people who make a big difference in your life are not the ones with the most impressive credentials, or the ones with the most amount of money, or the ones with the most stunning awards.
They are the ones that care.
And Dr. John Feeney cares. And “The Hero League” cares.
Rolando, the owner of Atiga Family Practice needs to give everyone who works there a big raise and a promotion.
*******
Now I want to switch gears and talk about this subject from a different perspective.
It was reported that Dr. Feeney arose at dawn in a burst of energy and flew out his front door in an effort to arrive at work early.
Observers noted, once again, that he was wearing a large fluttering red cape that draped down from his shoulders across his back, and that he had on a tight
fitting blue shirt with a big yellow “S” emblazoned on the chest as he rose high into the sky.
He soared to work faster than a speeding bullet.
He helped stranded travelers by fixing their cars and bending steel with his bare hands.
And, he leaped over tall buildings in single bounds so that he could arrive early to work.
Without breathing hard, he arrived at work and was ready to go.
When I arrived for my appointment in the medical office, I looked at the great doctor as he entered the examination room, and I suddenly realized that the planet “Krypton” actually existed and that Superman had really traveled to Earth and had changed his name from Clark Kent to Dr. John Feeney.
I knew it was true because I was looking at him.
