Staff Bios:
Staff Office Manager– Jayme H. joined Atiga Family Practice in 2016, but previously worked with Dr. Atiga at an Urgent Care for four years. She has been in the Medical Field for the past 15+ years and finds no greater joy then working in a field where she can help others. Her goal is to help the practice run smoothly both for the providers, staff and patients. Her goal is to help improve the functions of her medical office and incorporate the new standards that the health insurance companies require every year, provide the best preventive patient care and patient flow within the office. She is aware that most patient’s do not like the idea of going to a doctor’s appointment and she strives to make the office an enjoyable, comfortable and warm atmosphere for patients of all ages. Family, religion and projects on her house are extremely important to her. You’ll find her once a week on a lunch break eating with her parents and brother, making homemade meals every night and studying with her husband and son, running with and cuddling her fur babies or fixing something on her home. She openly requests suggestions and recommendations from staff and patients to help improve her second home and welcomes patients to join her extended family here at Atiga Family Practice.
Front and Back Office Medical Assistant- Virginia is our front office medical assistant. She developed a strong sense of devotion for the medical field soon after her grandparents fell ill. She attended the Medical Assistant Program at UEI in San Bernardino, CA, and graduated in 2010. She began her career in urology specialty as a back office medical assistant. She later found her calling in family practice and pediatric care. She has been in the medical field for over a decade and is very passionate about meeting the needs of the patients. She is excited about the opportunities and growth with Atiga Family Practice. Virginia has an amazing family that keeps her active with sports, outdoor activities and the occasional ER visits that come with it. She also enjoys exercising, cooking, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Front and Back Office Medical Assistant- Katyln graduated from San Joaquin Valley College with an associate degree in medical assisting. This is her first job in the medical field, and she loves every moment of it. Her favorite part is helping the patients with anything that they need. Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her family and friends, relaxing by the beach and reading a good book.
Front Office Medical Assistant- Jennifer graduated from San Joaquin Valley College with an associate degree in medical assisting. She wanted to have a career in the medical field because she loves to help people and feels that this job makes that possible. She started working in a small family practice in Irvine. She loved the family practice aspect, but not the long commute which prompted her to apply at Atiga Family Practice. She is excited about the opportunities and growth she gets to experience with her coworkers within Atiga Family Practice. Outside of the medical field, she likes spending quality time with family and friends, painting and outdoor activities.
Murrieta Referral Coordinator– Julissa is our Referral Coordinator in Murrieta, although she helps with our Menifee office referrals and medication prior authorizations. She graduated from the Medical Assistant program at U.S Colleges. She works directly with our patients, their families and even when needed social workers. She processes the specialty referrals from start to finish. Her care and compassion for patients is so strong, that it almost seems unreal. Being Healthcare allows her to show her care and compassion. She has exceptional communication skills which gives her the ability to handle sensitive matters in a timely manner. She strongly believes in working in a team-oriented environment. Julissa’s professionalism, empathy and compassion helps her to be understanding in dealing with challenging, high-risk cases. She has significant experience working with the underserved populations and communities. She genuinely cares about the welfare of her coworkers, patients and their families. Outside of the medical field, Julissa spends time going on hikes, staying active and spending quality time with her family.
Menifee Referral Coordinator– Emily graduated in 2008 as a Medical Administrative Assistant. She started her career at an Occupational Medicine Medical Group at the front office. She proved her abilities and moved her way up to the supervisor of the referral department. She oversaw the incoming, outgoing, and internal referrals as well as doing some billing. As the years passed, her family began to grow, and she decided she needed to part ways so she could be closer to home. She loves to continue her education. She brings with her extended knowledge in the referrals department. She has also worked in several specialty departments such as OB/GYN, Ophthalmologist, Orthopedics, Neurology. She feels that processing referrals for our patients gives her the empathy to treat them as her own family. She takes her job very seriously, knowing that an approved referral can get them to the next level to a healthier lifestyle. She has enjoyed her time with Atiga Family Practice and looks forward to helping all future patients of Atiga Family Practice patients. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, two children and husband. Since her children our young, every activity involves around them. They love going to the park, the beach, fishing, and any outdoor activities.
LVN, Chronic Care Management Coordinator– Becky has been working in the Healthcare field for over 25+ years. She started as a PBX operator and then moved to Senior Patients Services Representative. Her career as an LVN began 15+ years ago as an acute nurse at her local hospital. There she mainly worked respiratory and oncology patients. Since then, she has worked as a pain management and family practice nurse and for several years at the VA. She was eager to join Atiga Family Practice as a Chronic Care Manager Coordinator, to help assist patients in achieving their optimum health goals. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping, crafting and would love to travel more often. Her dogs are always part of her activities. She loves to spoil them.
LVN– Diana is a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at our Menifee office. She has practiced nursing 12+ years, since graduating from Mt. San Jacinto College. The majority of her experience has been in family medicine and pediatrics. She has also worked in other specialties such as OB/GYN, dermatology, and mental health. As an LVN she believes in treating all patients with dignity and respect. She takes pride in providing compassionate patient care. As a part of Atiga Family Practice she is excited to assist patients in any way that she can. When Diana is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, sons and their adorable rescue Shepherd mix, Harley. She and her family love spending time outdoors camping, boating out on the lake and riding in dunes.
LVN- Marissa has been an LVN since 2007. She also has her A.S degree in science Her LVN experience started in a private reproductive health practice and helping patients accomplish their dreams of becoming parents. After, I shifted my focus to a bariatric weight loss practice for eight years, where I helped patients to live a healthier lifestyle. In 2015 she moved and wanted to explore her nursing abilities and worked as a Cardiology nurse locally. In 2017 she had a big surprise and welcomed their fifth child and decided to take time off to care for the family. In 2019 she went back to work at a local urgent care. When she was offered the opportunity to join Atiga Family Practice in late 2019 to be able to use all her past knowledge at one clinic and to expand her knowledge in the pediatric side of the clinic. She feels blessed to be a part of an office that is so caring and family oriented. She cannot express in words just how much it means to her that they put family first.
Back Office Medical Assistant– Alvira has worked in the medical field for 22+ years, before joining Atiga Family Practice. She graduated from Intellectual College in Colorado. Her first job in the medical field was in Utah at a medicine and neurology department. Since then, she has worked in different specialties such as: Oncology, Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, OBGYN, Pulmonology and Critical Care. The past 5 years before joining Atiga Family Practice she worked in internal medicine and pediatrics. She has compassion and empathy for patients and their well-being. She cares for the patients and treats them like they are her family. She looks forward to the growth with Atiga Family Practice and growing her bond with their patients. Outside of work she is a wife, dog mom and loves to cook and watch reality shows.
Back Office Medical Assistant– Grace is a bilingual certified medical assistant. She has always had a passion to care and help others. Her passion for being in the medical field began in her teens. Since then, Grace has graduated with honors from Maric College of Medical Careers in Vista, California. She has acquired 10+ years in the medical field. She has worked in a variety of medical fields such as health technician, dermatology and pediatric practice. She enjoys her role at Atiga Family Practice and looks forward to gaining more knowledge and experience from patients and her colleagues. Her hobbies include dancing, spending time with her family and fur baby (Great Pyrenees dog) named Bear. She spends most of her time being in the outdoors and staying active. Grace gratefully anticipates the growth and opportunity she will acquire from Atiga Family Practice.
Medical Records Medical Assistant– Elishia graduated from San Joaquin Valley College with a certificate in medical assisting. She enjoys the medical records department because she feels that she can help the providers get all the information they need to help provide the best medical care in our abilities. She strives to have the records to the providers before the patients are seen. Outside of work she enjoys going to the gym, spending time with family and friends. In addition, Elishia spends time volunteering in helping the community.
